Spring in Texas starts with Bluebonnets in March and is going strong through the middle of May. So there should be a great deal of natural Spring scenes to utilize at the time of this workshop. The event won’t be canceled by rain. It is always hit or miss here in Texas, and while we love it for the flowers, Stevie Ray Vaughn didn’t write about it for no reason on his debut album, but it tends to go as quickly as it comes around here and since we are in the Hill Country the rain bands have a habit of spitting and going around us when it hits the rising hills.
The booking form is at the bottom of the page. Bookings for this event can be submitted, so we will take names and contact information, and the money will be collected later after the payment gateway is installed.
Born in the North East of England, Colin has lived in Scotland since 2004. Having always had an interest in art since early school years, he studied art to Advanced level and, later, part-time college. Colin pursued a career in Financial Services for 38 years, painting in his spare time, more seriously from 2000. He took early retirement in 2013 to concentrate on painting full time.
Colin has been fortunate to have studied with renowned oil painter Ken Howard RA OBE, also internationally known watercolourists Joseph Zbukvic and Alvaro Castagnet. He paints in both oils and watercolour, preferring to work outdoors for the energy and spontaneity it offers in the finished piece. Larger works are created in his studio from smaller paintings and sketches made outdoors. Colin’s love of travel is often reflected in his subject matter.
Colin writes articles for UK publication Leisure Painter magazine and is a regular watercolour instructor on cruise ships. He also works with Arte Umbria tutoring painting holidays in Italy and Slikamilina Painting Tours in Croatia, as well as running his own workshops in Scotland.
